Valuable fur and inexpensive pelts. The high quality of rabbit fur is on a par with that of mink. However, to get the best results, rabbits of certain breeds must be bred.

Pets. This category includes ornamental and pygmy rabbits, which are most often bred at home. They get on very well with children and do not bring many problems in care and housing.

Rabbits have a high fertility rate. During a 12-month period, an adult female rabbit produces 5-6 times her offspring. One kindling brings 8 to 15 rabbits. Therefore, rabbit breeding is a profitable business that will grow rapidly every year.

What costs are expected when starting out as a rabbit breeder?

Breeding animals at home and on the farm requires a certain amount of money.

Buying material for making houses, or ready-made cages. To breed animals in captivity, you need to provide them with a secure place to live.

A healthy female rabbit is placed with a male rabbit for mating and after mating it is repeated after 5-6 days. If the female rabbit does not allow the male to come near her, fertilization has already taken place. The bred doe must be kept in a separate cage where she will later raise her rabbits.

Although the opinions of optimistic theorists and pessimistic practical experts are divided on rabbit breeding, there is a strong conviction that it is profitable to raise rabbits! At three months of age, a rabbit can weigh from 3 kilos.

No other farm animal gives such an increase in clean meat.

Rabbits breed all year round. Consequently, there is a constant addition of offspring. If 1 female rabbit produces 45-60 cubs per year and each of them reaches 3 kg after 3 months, 60 cubs is 180 kg.
