Intended uses

For mushroom cultivation

Mushrooms are neither fish, nor meat, nor a plant. They represent an entirely separate category of the living natural world, which is used for eating by the majority of the world's nations. The bright, rich mushroom taste and aroma, which cannot be mistaken for any other product, is used to prepare hundreds of first and second course dishes. The unique vegetable "meat" received a new round of popularity thanks to the appearance of a large assortment of forest products in trading networks. Mushroom cultivation for sale has become a lucrative, highly profitable business.

The mushroom cultivation on farms became widespread at the end of the 1990s.

Oyster mushrooms and champignons are the most common varieties available on all market and supermarket shelves. Great competition has forced producers to expand their range of mushrooms. Today, it is possible to grow almost any kind of mushroom, including elite and rare varieties. The only exception is truffles, whose value consists in their "wildness". But even without them, there are plenty of profitable alternatives:

Champignons are the most expensive cultivated mushrooms and are therefore the most attractive for business. They require specific conditions, such as compost, substrate, sterile mycelium, equipment, etc. The investment should be appropriate.

Oyster mushrooms. With the right effort, it is possible to set up a business with a minimum investment. The yield from a single block reaches 7-8 kg per month, which automatically makes growing oyster mushrooms a quick return on investment.

Honey fungus is an unpretentious and easy-to-grow mushroom. At home, they are grown in wooden barrels that are previously slightly notched. Rarely seen in commercial production, despite its cultivation ease (free-range niche).

Chanterelles are cultivated in previously prepared, forest soil. The soil is collected in early autumn or early spring. The technology of mushroom cultivation in greenhouse conditions has not yet been mastered, and neither has industrial production. Suitable for cultivation on your own garden plots for personal use or a small seasonal business.

The ceps are valuable, nutritious and expensive, but require special growing conditions. It grows best in the open ground, at the roots of trees. In other words, year-round cultivation would require the construction of a stationary, expensive greenhouse with conditions close to those of the forest. In this regard, the ceps are more likely to be a seasonal product.

Mushroom cultivation is a great business, with a guaranteed profit and minimal investment.

According to a number of domestic food market experts, the supply and demand situation for mushrooms in Russia is very unbalanced. Studies show that it is not possible to cover the demand for mushroom products, even when taking into account the impressive volumes of imported products, which are imported every year for at least $400 million. The deficit is estimated at 115 thousand tons a year. At the same time, demand in this segment is growing from year to year - the average annual increase is 10-12%. All of this makes the mushroom cultivation a rather attractive business. In addition, as practice shows, to start mushroom farm requires relatively little investment and resources. In addition, it is easy enough to scale up afterwards.

Analysts estimate a production potential of 450% - that is, domestic "mushroom growers" can increase production by 4.5 times - but this requires an appropriate level of demand and customer welfare.
